Indigenous faces

For thousands of years Indigenous people have lived close to the earth and connected to nature. They inhabit nearly 20% of the planet and are among the earth’s most important protectors of the planet’s biological resources; caring for the natural environment they depend upon.

The Worldwide Fund for Nature’s (WWF) list of the world’s top 200 areas with the highest (and most threatened) biodiversity found that 95% of them were in Indigenous territories.1 We need the insight and spiritual attunement of Indigenous peoples for all our futures.
